Patuxent Room


After the best parlor, the best bedchamber was the most important room in an 18th century house for displaying a family’s choicest possessions. Furniture for sleeping, resting, washing, nursing, writing and eating could be found in this chamber and, along with the parlor, was the first to have window hangings and a carpet.
