Hart Room


In June 1635 at the age of 24, Thomas Hart set sail from England for the New World, arriving in the Massachusetts Bay colony in December. He settled at Ipswich; in 1639, he became a landowner and by 1641 owned a house. Hart was a tanner who also served his town as surveyor in 1661 and selectman in 1663. He died in 1673 or 1674, leaving an estate valued at £729. 3s. 6d.
